2/21/06 Two Lady Catz get ALL-SCCAL Honors
The SCCAL coaches recognized the talents of two WHS girls baskeball players despite a losing record, and voted Senior guard Jaimie Barrera to the ALL-SCCAL First Team and Sophomore point guard Sarah Kulich to the ALL-SCCAl Third Team. Barrera averaged 15.5ppg in league and 15.09 ppg overall during the 2005-2006 season. Barrera was third in league in field goal percentage, with only 6-3 Lindsay Walls (Santa Cruz HS), and 6-0 Katherine Brown (St. Francis CCHS) with more field goals than 5-5 Barrera. Kulich was WHS's second leading scorer with 9ppg in league, and connecting on 18 three pointers in only 8 league games. Kulich was out for all but one game of the first half of league due to a high ankle spain, but still impressed SCCAL coaches.
Congratulations LADY CATZ!
